Three teams in Division 1 remain undefeated after the first day of play at the highly competitive 2015 Butterfly Thanksgiving Teams Championship. “NJTTC 1” (Bochao Li, Henry Zhong, Hao Li, Xi Chen, Mendy Wang), “LYTTC Professional” (Adam Hugh, Cory Eider, Kaden Xu, Ruichao Chen, Grant Li) and “NYC Table Tennis Academy” (Jon Ebuen, Marcos Madrid, Paul David, Michael Landers) all succeeded in their first three opening team ties, and are looking to continue their winning record throughout the weekend. Continuing to challenge these top teams will be an impressive crew of Korean teenagers “Nae-Dong Middle School” and top NYC players “NYISC Elite” among many others. All teams will play 4 additional team ties on Saturday, with the final two ties played on Sunday. With 10 teams in each division, every team still has an opportunity to take home the $3,000 first prize title.

Two teams with players from Shanghai, China “California TTC Boy’s Team” and “California Table Tennis Club” swept Division 2 on Friday. Both teams are easily the favorites for the $500 and $300 prize money offered for the top teams in the second division. 69 total teams are competing in 7 divisions this weekend at the Legacy Youth Tennis and Education Center in Philadelphia on 52 Butterfly tables. Play concludes for all divisions on Sunday afternoon.
