The Alameda Ping Pong Gym is a new club in the Bay Area.  It offers 10 tables and lots of space with newly-renovated lighting and flooring.

With its location on Lincoln Avenue, the Alameda Ping Pong Gym is conveniently located for players on the East side of San Francisco Bay.  Alameda is a city on Alameda Island just one mile South of downtown Oakland.  Lincoln Avenue has easy access to the 880 Nimitz Freeway and to public transportation including Oakland’s Fruitvale Station which is about 2 miles from the club.

When the club fully reopens, there will be club hours every day and there will be Wednesday and Sunday Round Robin events.  Youth group lessons are Saturday mornings, and advanced group and individual lessons are available as well.

LATTA is a non-profit organization established in 1998. The center is one of the largest table tennis clubs in the country with more than 10,000 square feet of space.  It has 20-foot ceilings and red rubber floors. It accommodates 16 tables and has ample parking spaces.

One of the most unique advantages of LATT is the coaching staff, led by legendary female players Tawny Banh and Crystal Huang.  Banh is a two-time Olympian and a Pan Am medalist, and Huang was an Olympian and a former US Champion.  The facility features coaching, monthly tournaments, and Saturday round robin competitions.  They have also partnered with local Parks & Recreation departments and other community groups to try to help expand the sport through after-school athletic programs.

The Rhode Island Table Tennis Association is a volunteer organization dedicated to the enjoyment of the sport of Table Tennis. Table Tennis Minnesota has three locations in the greater Minneapolis-St.Paul area.  The Training Center location is on Concord Street in South St. Paul, the Jewish Center location is on Cedar Lake Road in Minneapolis, and the Bloomington Armory location is in Bloomington.  The Training Center is open Monday-Thursday and Sunday and offers a variety of training of open play options.  The Jewish Community Center offers open play on Thursdays and training and a tournament on Saturdays.  The Bloomington Armory location hosts a weekly round robin tournament on Mondays.

Mitch Seidenfeld founded Table Tennis Minnesota in 1992.  The goal was to grow and develop the sport in Minnesota through leagues, tournaments, and instructional programs.  Minnesota now has a four-tiered recreational league system, a high school league/state championship with over 30 high schools competing, and private and group instruction for players of all levels. Table Tennis Minnesota coaching programs have produced numerous state champions and nationally ranked junior and senior players. Seidenfeld’s work as a coach was nationally recognized in 2003 when he was selected as the U.S. Olympic Committee Table Tennis Developmental Coach of the Year.

Table Tennis Minnesota currently has three community leagues.  The Bloomington Community League is open to all levels and runs on Monday nights.  The St. Paul Community League runs on Wednesdays at the Training Center location.  The Minneapolis Community League runs on Thursdays at the Jewish Community Center location. A fourth league is the Anoka-Hennepin Community Education Table Tennis League which uses handicap scoring in a 2-person co-ed recreational series that includes instruction and is open to beginners.
