Alec (AJ) grew up excelling at many sports in Rochester, New York, including both baseball and table tennis. He was a multi-medalist at the AAU Junior Olympics in 1997-2001, earning 2 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze medals. After injuries sidelined him from an invitation to the major leagues as a left-handed baseball pitcher, AJ focused his attention more exclusively on table tennis. AJ trained and traveled to table tennis tournaments across the US, and quickly reached a high level of play with a rating of over 2400. He has been coaching table tennis for the last seven years, and is a USATT Certified Umpire. AJ has completed his certification as an ITTF Level 1 Coach and USATT State Coach.
