Butterfly Table Tennis Question and Answer

BladeMizutani Jun Super ZLC
ForehandTenergy 05 FX
BackhandTenergy 80 FX

Question: I wanted to check whether this combination would work well. I would like a good combination of power and control, and I take a relatively mid-fast swing through the ball. Also I would like help on which rubber and thickness to go with on forehand/backhand side. Thank You.

Coach Judy Hugh, Ask The ExpertsAnswer: Dear Ahmed,

The Jun Mizutani ZLC is a fast, light blade with good control for close to the table spinning. I like it for its springy bounce when looping, yet good control for short pushes/dropshots.

As for rubber, I personally like Tenergy 05 on both sides in 2.1mm thickness. If you like something a little slower with more control on the backhand, you could also go with Tenergy 64, also with 2.1 thickness.

Good luck!
