Coach Jeffrey Zeng logged another success a week ago in Texas – as his student, Winston Wu, finished with 12 wins and 2 losses across the whole event.

Coach Zeng said, ” At the USA National Team Trials, Winston Wu has gone through all the difficult games, defeating tough opponents, to become the new USA Trials U13 Champion.”

Winston was 6-1 in the qualifying group play which left him seeded third in the Final Round Robin.  In the final group, Winston finished 6-1.  After Winston, there were four players tied at 4-3, with the final results 1st Winston Wu, 2nd Kef Noorani, 3rd Dhruv Chopra, 4th Ryan Lin, and 5th Charles Shen.

Winston went on to have a solid National Championships as well – finishing second in the U13 Singles event.   In fact, that one loss in the Finals to Ryan Lin was a 4-3 marathon where three of the games included a 10-10 tie and extra points.   A solid showing by an up and coming player.
