Butterfly Table Tennis Question and Answer

Question: My daughter Ananya (13 years old) has been an athlete for the last three years and has started playing table tennis about three months ago using a ready-made GKI Kungfu Bat.

The coach says that she is picking up very fast and we need to go for a good blade and bat combination. Though her style is basically offensive, the coach has suggested that we go in for a bat with good control and soft feel so that she can learn to play all the different shots.

We have short listed the following blades:

1. Timo Boll ALL+ (S-7.0, C-9.5)
2. Timo Boll ALL (S-8.0, C-9.5)
3. Timo Boll ALL+ (S-7.8, C-9.0)
4. Jonyer Hinoki (S-7.3, C-8.6)
5. Andrzej Grubba (S-6.5, C-8.9)
6. Primorac (S-7.7, C-8.7)

We would like to keep the cost of the blade alone to $50 – $65

Please advise as to which of the above or any other blade we should go for and the matching rubber that we should use.

Thank you in advance and best wishes

Jith

Answer: Hi Jith,

Thanks for your question and interest in Butterfly equipment.

My recommendation for your daughter is the Timo Boll ALL blade, with Sriver rubbers (2.1mm) on both forehand and backhand. This combination is a classic among Butterfly’s entry level custom made professional rackets. It provides great control while still being able to create a good balance of spin and speed.

I hope your daughter enjoys her new custom made racket !

Best,
