Butterfly Table Tennis Question and Answer

BladeInnerforce Layer ALC FL
ForehandTenergy 25 FX 2.1
BackhandTenergy 25 FX 2.1

Question: Hi. Thinking about my playing style I am an average player that tends to play close to the table. Based on the information on the Butterfly site and Youtube videos, I think the Tenergy 25 FX 2.1 would be a good choice. What are your thoughts on this rubber with the Innerforce Layer ALC FL blade? Also, should side tape be wide enough to cover the rubber or just the blade? Thanks!

Coach Lily Yip, Ask The ExpertsAnswer: Dear Henry,

The Innerforce Layer ALC is a nice, light carbon blade with decent control. Tenergy 64 is good for close to the table, and Tenergy 05 for attacking a bit off the table. These rubbers are always a good combination.

Side tape would be a personal preference. There is no difference whether it covers the rubber or just the blade.

Best Wishes!

Lily Yip
