Butterfly Table Tennis Question and Answer

Question: Can you please tell me the philosophy of the blades…
if the blade has a hard feeling when you hit the ball what is the type of rubber for it?
if the blade has a medium feel what is the type of rubber?
if the blade has a soft feel what is the type of rubber?

I’m trying to become a offensive player that loops and top spins the ball. I have used the Butterfly Primorac and Butterfly Balsa Carbo X5. I want a blade that has a thicker handle and something that will allow to me continue to improve learning those 2 techniques in the game.

Thank you very much.

Answer: Hi JH,

Thanks for your question and interest in Butterfly equipment.

In general I recommend softer blades with harder feel rubbers and harder blades with softer feel rubbers.

The next step is to determine your style of play. The closer you stay to the table the harder the feel of the rubber and the farther away from the table the softer the feel of the rubber.

Regarding the thickness of the blade handle I recommend a straight version as it provides you a fuller and bigger grip for your hand. It also helps to not switch your grip when transitioning between forehand and backhand.

The new Innerforce Layer ZLC blade is my recommendation for you.

I hope you will enjoy your new racket.
