Dignics 05 review by Stephanie Sun

First, this new butterfly rubber Dignics 05 may take a few days to break in. At first, you may find it a little hard to flat hit or smash if you have been using bouncy rubbers like I have (I used Tenergy 05 for forehand and Tenergy 64 for backhand for the past year and Hurricane for many years before that). This is because the trajectory of the ball using Dignics 05 is lower compared to Tenergy and it absorbs the ball a little longer.

I noticed the spin from my serve is increased and it’s easier to keep my serve low. This can be very helpful in gaining more control in the game with more advantage from the serve. The low trajectory and the longer time holding the ball on the rubber gives me more control during blocking and counter looping.

After two or three days of practicing, I adapted to the rubber and once I go more tangential on the ball, the ball gets so much more topspin and yet travels just as fast as bouncier rubbers but with a smooth low trajectory. Another merit of this rubber is that it doesn’t break easily on the edge.
