Exceptional Prize Money for 10-Year Anniversary Butterfly Badger Open
$16,000 in prize money, with $5,000 for the Open Singles champion, awaits the ~300+ players expected to attend the 2017 Butterfly Badger Open. Taking place in Franklin, WI (15 miles from downtown Milwaukee and directly outside of Milwaukee airport) from September 15-17th, the 2017 Badger Open will feature the same stunning conditions from previous years. 50 fully barriered Butterfly tables, incredible lighting, large feature courts and free lunch/snacks for all players are now standard at this annual event. In addition, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of one of the first major 4-star sanctioned events in the Midwest, prize money has been significantly increased across all events.

From humble beginnings as a 2-star tournament in 2008, the Butterfly Badger Open has grown in both importance and prominence in the Midwest and nationally. This year’s event will feature past champions – including Canadian Olympian Eugene Wang and 2016 champion Jishan Liang – returning to compete for the championship title.

Table tennis professionalism is the cornerstone of the Butterfly Badger Open’s continued success. With Butterfly supporting the growth and development of table tennis in the Midwest, the Badger Open continues to thrive year after year. Tournament director Linda Leaf looks forward to welcoming all returning and new players to this year’s exceptional event.

To join in on the competition and experience US table tennis at its finest, register for the 2017 Butterfly Badger Open today at www.BadgerOpen.com. Entrees will be accepted until September 8th.

Continual coverage of the Badger Open and stories about the athletes will be available at www.ButterflyOnline.com, or via Bowmar Sports/Butterfly North America’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
