Hopes Extinguished Xu Xin Ends Adventures of Kristian Karlsson

High hopes but it was not to be on the morning of the concluding day of play, Sunday 15th November, at the GAC Group 2015 ITTF World Tour Swedish Open in Stockholm; Xu Xin the top seed had done his homework, there was to be no sensation.

He beat the host nation’s Kristian Karlsson, the no.30 seed, who had excelled all expectations to reach the penultimate round, in four straight games (11-5, 11-4, 11-3, 11-8) in their Men’s Singles semi-final duel.

The win came prior, to Fan Zhendong, the no.2 seed, recovering from a two games to one deficit to beat Chinese National Team compatriot, Liang Jingkun in a six games encounter (11-8, 8-11, 10-12, 11-9, 11-8, 11-7). Read More ITTF
