WAB CLUB FEATURE: Austin Table Tennis Club

(by Steve Hopkins)

The Austin Table Tennis Club has been around for more than thirty years.  Their current 12,000 square foot full-time facility is a big change from the wooden dance floor in the back of a bar where they started.  That current facility offers high ceilings, great lighting, 15 tables for normal play and three additional training tables with robots.  The club is open from 2p-10p during weekdays, from 1p-10p on Saturday, and from 1p-7p on Sunday.

The club is located at 8956 Research Blvd in Austin.  They are just off of US Highway 183 on the North side of Austin.

There are leagues on two nights and a variety of coaching options.  The Austin Table Tennis Club coaching program is headed by Coach Shahin Akhlaghpasand. Training is designed for players of all backgrounds and levels to achieve their table tennis goals – all much more quickly than would be possible on their own. Bato Kurt, Marguerite Cheung, and Clayton Pavlicek round out a highly skilled coaching staff.

Whether you are looking for a place to play for fun, for opportunities to compete, or for coaching tailored to your needs, the Austin Table Tennis Club has options for you.

Check out their next tournament on January 21st – The ATTC Lunar New Year Giant Round Robin.
