Triangle Table Tennis: June 2017 News and Happenings

(Courtesy of Triangle Table Tennis Club)

This monthly newsletter is the only email you’ll receive from us in June, so it has it all — a quick overview of recent news as well as upcoming tournaments and programs, including the USATT 2-star sanctioned 2017 Triangle June Open Tournament this weekend (and a slate of future tournaments), Group Lessons, and the kick off of Summer Camps!
The 2017 May Upside Down Open Tournament was a
ton of fun, especially for developing players!
Last month we hosted our annual Upside Down tournament, where the higher prize money awards were in the lower-rated events.  Predictably, the U900 event had some fierce competition!  You can check out some of the event photos in our Facebook Photo Album, as well as the finals of the U1300 on our YouTube page.
We Celebrated our 3-Year Anniversary!
Last week we were able to put another feather in our cap, as we have officially been open for 3 years!  We are proud to have been serving the Triangle community since June of 2014 and look forward to doing so for many years to come.  The cake is long gone by now (though it lives on forever on our Instagram page), but we enjoyed sharing it, as well as memories, with friends and members.  Thank you to all that have helped us get this far as we push further and commit to growing the sport of table tennis here in North Carolina.

New Entry in the Coaches Blog
Head Coach Brian Pace has posted a new entry into the Coaches Blog titled “How To Maintain Tactical Focus”.  In this post, he delves into identifying your own style, testing the weaknesses of your opponent, and creating a good skill/kill ratio.  You can see this post, as well as others, at https://triangletabletennis.com/news/.
Fixed Block of 12 Group Lessons Program
Offers Significant Discounts for Committed Players
Players who are committed to taking multiple group lessons to develop their skills can now schedule a Fixed Block of 12 Group Lessons and enjoy significant savings!

This program allows students to select 12 specific fixed lesson dates/times they prefer, from the entire set of those available on our calendar, at the time of enrollment. Players do not have to stick to the same days and times each week, or even to the same coaches — instead, they may select from all days and times on which we have lessons within their skill level (Beginner, Intermediate, or Intermediate-Advanced) that still have available slots. Although rescheduling cannot be accommodated after enrollment selections are made, we can allow each individual student to build a customized schedule for their block of group lessons, to meet his or her known needs at the time of enrollment.

In return for this advance commitment to a fixed set of 12 specific lesson dates, the Fixed Block of 12 Group Lesson program offers attractive savings (with built-in membership discounts):

  • Non-members or members with a month-to-month membership will enjoy a 20% discount on the cost per group lesson
  • Basic members with a pre-paid 3-month or longer membership term will enjoy a 25% discount on the cost per group lesson
  • Premium members will enjoy a 30% discount on the cost per group lesson

This program offers a great way to take advantage of the expanded schedule of group lessons described below!

Schedule for Beginner Group Lessons
Now Available
Head Coach Brian Pace has expanded our Group Lesson offerings to include more time slots for beginning players, particularly on weekends, with Beginner Group Lessons now available on:

  • Mondays at 5:30
  • Wednesdays at 5:30 and 6:00
  • Saturdays at 1:00, 2:30, and 4:00
  • Sundays at 2:00, 3:30, and 5:00

These classes will be taught by one or more of our ITTF or USATT certified coaches, and will maintain a coach to student ratio of at least 1:8. The 1.5-hour Beginner lessons are $35. As always, membership discounts apply to these group lessons. Additionally, committed players may take advantage of the new Fixed Block of 12 Group Lessons program described earlier in this newsletter to enjoy deeper discounts.
We anticipate that these classes will fill quickly, so please register early to ensure you can get into the class at the time that you prefer.
