Road To The World Cup: United By Excellence And Commitment Butterfly

Posted on

(by: Edgardo Vázquez /Puerto Rico National Coach)

We completed a high-level training camp in Spain as part of our preparation for the Qatar 2025 World Table Tennis Championships. It was an intense, demanding, and enriching experience, in which the national teams of Puerto Rico and Spain came together to elevate their performance to the maximum.

Representing Puerto Rico were our athletes Brian Afanador, Brianna Burgos, and Ángel Naranjo. Representing Spain were world-class figures such as Álvaro Robles, María Xiao, Sophia Zhang, and Juan Pérez. Together with Spanish coach Alfredo Carneros, we trained every day with a clear goal: to arrive in Qatar in the best physical, technical, tactical, and mental shape possible.

On a personal level, this camp held special significance. Three of us Brian Afanador, Ángel Naranjo, and myself as coach (Edgardo Vazquez) were proudly part of the Butterfly America family. We wore the butterfly on our chest not only as a symbol of quality and excellence, but also as a constant motivation to give our best at all times.

Thank you, Butterfly America, for your continued support. This journey to the World Cup was also a reflection of what this brand represents: passion, commitment, and high performance. We worked with our eyes firmly on Qatar, proudly wearing the colors of Puerto Rico… and Butterfly.
