USA’s Kanak Jha is back in the Bundesliga, joining Romain Ruiz and Benedict Duda on TTC Schwalbe Bergneustadt. Bergneustadt is a town of ab out 20,000 in the Western part of Germany a little over an hour from larger cities of Cologne, Dusseldorf, and Dortmund. Kanak, who had been with Ochsenhausen previously, bolsters a squad that is currently sixth in the standings -narrowly behind Ochsenhausen in 5th, and within striking distance of Muhlhausen who is in the key 4th position. The goal is for Kanak to help the team jump up two positions to qualify for the Final Four.
In today’s match against Grenzau, Kanak logged the first win for Bergneustadt over World No. 66 from Taipei, Yi Hsin Feng. Kanak won 3-1, winning the first, third and fourth games. Kanak’s teammates Romain Ruiz and Benedict Duda each won their matches for a 3-0 Bergneustadt win (Ruiz over Maciej Kubic 3-1, and Duda over Sam Walker 3-0).
The team next plays against Werder Bremen on Wednesday.
