Dima Drops a Dime – Invests in MLTT

(by Steve Hopkins, photo ITTF)

Dimitrij Ovtcharov is a part of the new ownership of the Princeton Revolution Major League Table Tennis franchise.  The investment group for the Princeton squad now includes majority owner Roger Kang, Andre Liu, and Dima Ovtcharov.  As Ovtcharolv noted in a social medial post, the project is “one of the most exciting things happening in table tennis right now”.  Many famous sports figures have invested time and money into American leagues – one of the most publicized and recent examples is Messi joining Inter Miami to play soccer in the US.  Perhaps after the Olympics, we have a chance of seeing Dima play for his team in the US.

Six of the eight MLTT teams now have larger ownership groups.  One of the other interesting names to appear among the ownership groups was Manu Ginobli, who is a part of the new ownership group of the Florida Crocs.  Ginobli was a key part of the NBA’s Sang Antonio Spurs and is a part of the NBA Hall of Fame.

MLTT continues to move forward – and each new move appears to be a savvy step towards stability (and longevity).
