Butterfly Table Tennis Question and Answer

Question:
Forehand Rubber: T05 2.1
Backhand Rubber: T80 2.1

Can you compare the butterfly Timo boll spirit and the butterfly viscaria. The composition of the two blades seem to be the same . I noticed that the handle and wings of the viscaria are thicker . Does this affect performance ? Do they have any difference in speed, control or feeling ?
Thank you

This Ask the Experts question was answered by Rachid El Boubou. He is a Coach at Tulsa Table Tennis Club and his response is as follows:

Hi Narendran,

Yes, the handle of the Viscaria is thicker.

Viscaria is preferable for players who stand further from the table because its more controllable. You can make higher arcs and place the ball wherever you like. It is also slightly softer than theTimo Boll ALC. The Timo Boll ALC is used by players that prefer to play close to the table with fast drives.

I hope this helps!
