Americans Win Multiple Events at San Fran WTT Youth Contender

The WTT Youth Contender Series is in its last day at the event in San Francisco, and Americans are atop the leaderboard in many of the events.  Americans have won many of the events thus far, including Tashiya Piyadasa won the Girls U17, Joshua Joseph won the Boys U13, Irene Yeoh won the Girls U13, and Isabella Joseph won the Girls U11, and  Vishal Sivakumar and Abigail Yu also teamed up to win U15 Mixed Doubles.

U19 Boys is still underway and Americans Ved Sheth, Darryl Tsao, and Nandan Naresh are all in to the Quarters.  Americans Mandy Yu and Zige Ding will face each other in one Semifinal of U19 Singles, so later today there will be an American in the Final.  USA’s Darryl Tsao finished second and Puerto Rico’s Enrique Rios was third in a U17 Boys event won by Australia’s Won Bae.  U15 Boys is only through to the Quarters – 6 of those 8 slots are American players (Hiremani, Sivakumar, Musthafa, Velayutham (Sivaraam), Velayutham (Shiriraam), and Jingfaan Feng.  U15 Girls has 5 Americans through to the Quarters (Yu, Yeoh, Kasichainula, Piyadasa, and Feng). A few other events are still scheduled for later today.
