WTTC 2025 (Part 2): Expanding the Circle of Social Contribution Through Table Tennis – Messages Embodied in T-Shirts for the ITTF Foundation

(By Butterfly Global)

In the second installment of our WTTC 2025 series, we highlight the initiatives carried out by the ITTF Foundation at the Championships venue.

The ITTF Foundation, established by the International Table Tennis Federation in 2018, aims to support developing countries, marginalized communities, minorities, and refugees through the power of table tennis.

Butterfly strongly resonates with this vision of “social contribution through table tennis” and has built a lasting partnership with the Foundation over the years. Our support has included donations of equipment to Tonga and sponsorship of events such as “World Table Tennis Day,” organized by the ITTF Foundation.

At the WTTC venue, special T-shirts were distributed at the ITTF Foundation booth as a token of appreciation to those who made donations.

This article shares the warm responses received and the heartfelt messages embedded in those shirts.

A Booth Filled with Passion – Support from Around the World

The ITTF Foundation booth at the WTTC venue attracted around 50 visitors per day.
Guests included not only table tennis fans, but also club owners, coaches, and representatives from national table tennis associations. Many came with enthusiasm to learn more about the ITTF Foundation and explore opportunities to get involved.

Witnessing people from across the global table tennis community show genuine interest in social contribution—beyond the scope of competition—reinforced the profound influence the sport can have.

Gratitude in a Tangible Form – Specially Designed T-Shirts

As a token of appreciation for donors, Butterfly prepared 100 specially designed T-shirts featuring our logo.

These T-shirts were created not merely as commemorative items, but as a way to strengthen the connection between the ITTF Foundation and its supporters.
The responses from the donors were overwhelmingly positive. Some proudly wore the T-shirts to express their support for the ITTF Foundation, while others returned to the booth the following day wearing them, smiling and visibly demonstrating their support.

Building Bonds for the Future of Table Tennis – A Continuing Commitment to Social Impact

This initiative offered a renewed appreciation of the depth of commitment the global table tennis community holds toward social contribution.

We believe that the power of table tennis extends beyond the sport itself and can help address broader social challenges. With the message embedded in each of these shirts, we hope to expand the circle of social contribution even further—and Butterfly remains fully committed to supporting that future.
