U.S. Earns Four Medals at ITTF World Para Future Spokane 2025
Over 150 para-athletes from around the globe competed at the ITTF World Para Future Spokane 2025, delivering an electrifying showcase of skill and determination. Team USA made its mark, capturing a total of four medals.
Leading the American charge, Jenson Van Emburgh claimed silver in Seated Men’s Singles Class 3, narrowly falling to world No. 3 Florian Merrien (FRA) in a gripping 3–2 final. Jenson also added another podium finish with a bronze in Men’s Doubles Class MD8 alongside Zachary Pickett, a relatively new player already making a strong impression on the international stage.
Michael Godfrey contributed to the U.S. tally with a bronze in Seated Men’s Singles Class 1, while Logan Watson and Tahl Leibovitz earned bronze in Standing Men’s Doubles Class 18. The high-level competition at the Para Future set the stage for even greater stakes at the Para Elite, which began on August 9.
Medals for Team USA at the ITTF World Para Elite Spokane 2025
In front of the home crowd, the Para Elite brought even higher intensity. Once again, Jenson Van Emburgh led Team USA’s medal charge with strong performances, confirming his status as one of the world’s leading para table tennis players. In addition, an excellent performance from Ian Philip Seidenfeld secured a bronze medal in Class 6.
Butterfly Shines at ITTF World Para & WTT Feeder Spokane 2025
Spokane became the center of international table tennis action this summer, hosting the ITTF World Para Future & Para Elite events alongside two WTT Feeder tournaments. The week was filled with intense rallies, world-class performances, and a strong presence from Butterfly, proud sponsor of the competition tables and presenter of the Women’s Singles award ceremony.
WTT Feeder Spokane I – Event Highlights
The WTT Feeder Spokane I brought together a world-class field of competitors. In Women’s Singles, Japan’s Saki Shibata dominated the field, defeating India’s Sreeja Akula and doubles champion Asuka Sasao before overcoming Kaho Akae in the final. This victory boosted Shibata’s ranking, moving her closer to a Top 50 return for the first time since April 2022.

On the Men’s Singles side, France’s Leo De Nodrest claimed his first WTT Feeder title and achieved a career-high ranking of No. 72. With impressive wins over Park Ganghyeon and Borgar Haug, De Nodrest is now setting his sights on breaking into the Top 50.
In the doubles competitions, France’s Irvin Bertrand and Jules Rolland won the Men’s Doubles title, while Japan’s Asuka Sasao and Anne Uesawa took home the Women’s Doubles crown. In Mixed Doubles, Japan’s Satoshi Aida and Hitomi Sato secured first place.
