Season 2 is Next Week 🏓

MLTT Weekly Round-Up

Everything You Need to Know for Season 2 of MLTT

Season 2 of MLTT drops its first serve next Friday in Portland, and we can hardly believe the big day is almost here already. New to MLTT? Had a wild summer and need to be reminded about what happened last season? We’ve got you covered!

Here’s (mostly) everything you need to know before next week:

We added 30 players…💪

  • Led by England’s Liam Pitchford (pictured above), who was the first overall pick in the 2024 MLTT Draft by the Florida Crocs, the league added 30 players from all over the world, strengthening our talent pool and setting Season 2 up for even stiffer competition.

Women’s singles is on the menu…🏓

  • The rules have been adjusted so that there must be a woman competing in a singles match every team game. Get ready for epic clashes between players like Lily Zhang, Amy Wang, Deb Vivarelli and Mati Ekholm, just to name a few.

Serve clock! ⏲️

  • We want action and we want it now. This year’s competition will feature a serve clock to speed up time between points.

Defending champs & MVPs…🏆

  • Your defending champions are the Texas Smash, who defeated the Princeton Revolution for the inaugural MLTT title in Chicago last April. And your defending men’s and women’s MVPs are Carolina’s Enzo Angles and Hong Lin, respectively.

Paris momentum…🏅

  • We had 12 athletes competing over the summer, with the Bay Area Blasters’ Lily Zhang making the most waves with a Round of 16 finish in women’s singles. She and her teammates also made table tennis fans out of NBA stars Anthony Edwards and Stephen Curry. Now our Olympians are bringing the action stateside — don’t miss it!

Butterfly kits are back! 🦋

  • New season, new uniforms for every team from our kit sponsor Butterfly. But the big reveal won’t come until next Friday on the courts, so make sure you tune in. Want to get your hands on one of last year’s kits before it’s too late? Visit our store today.

Player Rankings…📈

  • Angles isn’t just our defending men’s MVP, he’s also the top-ranked player from our first season. Make sure to take a look at the final rankings for last season before they’re shaken up and start all over for season two.
