A news item today in Germany noted that editorial teams of tischtennis and myTischtennis have been cooperating with Chinese magazine Table Tennis World (乒乓世界).  The interview with the parents of Japanese superstars Miwa and Tomokazu appears in the February issue of tischtennis as well as in the current issue of Table Tennis World.

Some interesting notes that were provided were that Zhang Lin, the pair’s mother, was against her children playing table tennis as a professional.  Both of the Harimoto parents (Yu and Lin) were originally from China, and both played table tennis.  Lin represented China at the 43rd World Table Tennis Championships.

The article goes on to discuss the family both as players and outside of the sport.  The on-the-table information includes a discussion of the pressures faced by Harimoto ahead of the Olympics in Tokyo.
