The Championship took place on February 17th and 18th and was organized by The University of Cuenca in an effort to inspire the youth and demonstrate that sports can be thoroughly enjoyed while also keeping a steady balance with academics.

As an alumnus of the Polytechnic University of the Army (UPE), Geovanny Coello competed with several other former students representing their “Alma Mater” in the Individual category where he won first place, a commendable effort considering the participation of near a hundred athletes from all over the country as well as several other returning athletes just like Coello.

In the end, out of 15 participating Universities and Institutions, The University of Cuenca was the one to take the majority of wins in the male and female team categories, earning them the qualification for the upcoming Pan-American University Championship representing Ecuador. In addition to this, the institution also earned the qualification for the Third Edition of the International University Sports Federation Games of America (FISU) that will develop starting November 1st until the 10th in Cali, Colombia.
