As the diagram shows, the so-called “speed glue” has been prohibited since September 2008 and plastic balls have started to be utilized since July 2014. At each time, the official rules have been changed according to the requirements of the era and the equipment had the opportunity to adapt. Table tennis will change over time. But when there is such a change – the choice of the world’s best players remains the same.
