I am a knowledgeable, positively supportive and goal oriented professional that has balanced a successful Corporate Managerial career with an active playing, administrative and coaching career in sport.  I am a highly trained and qualified Table Tennis Coach with the following credential highlights:

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Over 30 years of Regional and International playing experience as a national table tennis athlete.
  • Over 20 years coaching experience with beginner, intermediate and advanced players.
  • National Senior Coach with the Men’s and Women’s Table Tennis teams at Regional and International competitions for the past 15 years
  • One of only eight Level 3 ITTF coaches in Trinidad and Tobago. One of only 5 certified to coach differently abled athletes and para athletes.
  • Qualified Train the Trainer Coach – able to train, certify Level 1 coaches in Trinidad and Tobago
  • Successfully coached a T&T table tennis player to win a qualifying tournament spot for the Olympics – (Dexter St. Louis –Beijing Olympics, 2008).

EXPERIENCE

  • 2005 – 2024 Senior National Table Tennis Coach – Trinidad and Tobago
    • Prepare national teams for senior men’s and women’s competitions at all regional and international competitions.
    • Develop coaching and implementation programs for submission to the national and international governing bodies to access developmental table tennis programs
    • Assist private table tennis clubs with their coaching needs to develop their cadre of players – Carenage Blasters, Arima Hawks, Warenville United Table Tennis Clubs.
  • 2011 – 2014 President – Trinidad and Tobago Table Tennis Association
    • Successfully headed the administration of the sport in Trinidad and Tobago for 2 successive terms.
    • Successfully hosted the only Caribbean Regional Table Tennis Competition in Trinidad and Tobago for the last 15 years.
    • Met all Ministry of Sport, Olympic Committee and ITTF Compliance requirements to access funding and support for the growth and development of the sport during the period.
  • 1998 to 2005 National Athlete Trinidad and Tobago– Table Tennis
    • 5 time National Men’s Singles Champion
    • 20 times National Doubles Champion
    • 3 time Medalist at the Caribbean Regional Table Tennis Championships
    • Represented Trinidad and Tobago at Latin American as well as Commonwealth Games and World Championships.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 1997 BSc Upper Second Honours / University of the West Indies
    • Double Major in Sociology and Management
  • 1992 O’Levels and A’Levels / St. Marys College
    • Eight – 1’s and One – A with 3 distinctions at CXC examinations.
    • Two – A’s and two – C’s at A Level’s
  • 1992 Level 3 Certificate / International Table Tennis Federation
    • To attain Level 3 certification a coach must complete Level 1 and 2 successfully and MUST be recommended by the ITTF Coaching Facilitator based on their Level 2 performance.
    • Highest scoring Trinidad and Tobago Coach at both Level 2 and Level 3 certification assessments
