Jeff Yamada is a coach at Naples Pong

Jeff was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and started playing table tennis at the age of 7 in a club called Itaim Keiko. Jeff had many coaches that helped him throughout his career, but his main coach was the Japanese, Toshio Takeda, who previously worked at Tamasu Butterfly in Japan. Because of table tennis, Jeff was able to visit and play in more than 15 different countries including Japan, China, and France. Jeff has practiced at the Butterfly Dohjo and the National Training Center in Japan, Villeneuve-sur-Lot in France, and Ochsenhausen in Germany. He also played in the World Junior Championships, Germany Open, and the professional league in France representing Saint-Pierre-lès-Elbeuf. Eventually, he moved to the US in January 2017 with a table tennis scholarship at Lindenwood University. Below is a list of Jeff’s biggest accomplishments as a player.

Jeff coached at the Samson Dubina TT Academy for two years (2021-2023) and has coached Sid Naresh, Nandan Naresh, Sarah Jalli, Andrew Cao, Anav Gupta, Ryan Lin, Alex Lu, Carmen Yu, and many younger players on the national team. Jeff has traveled with Sid, Nandan, Sarah, and Andrew across the country, where they have won national and international titles at events such as the US Open and the US Nationals.

In Princeton Pong, Jeff has coached Aria Shi, Dhruv Chopra, Arden Shi, and others.
