Well it’s fair to say there was a lot of hype built up over whether Kanak Jha and Lily Zhang could reach the finals and defend their titles from 2016, now they will have that chance. Last night the two booked their places in their respective finals after overcoming the challengers throughout the singles main draw.

Notably both players haven’t had their limits pushed, both in outstanding form and not having lost a single game in the event yet. Lily Zhang breezed past Tiffany Ke in the round of 16 before launching a 4-0 offensive over Crystal Wang in the quarterfinals. She showed no sign of slowing down in the semifinals where she overcame Wang Xinyue, again in straight games.
