Butterfly Table Tennis Question and Answer
Blade: Timo Boll ALC Proline
Forehand Rubber: Tenergy 05
Backhand Rubber: Tenergy 05
Question: Hi,
I have used my blade for 3 years; use it 2 times in a week and every usage last about 2 hours.
I want to know when I should replace my blade and normally how long does it take the performance of a blade goes low?
Answer: Hi Hooman,
Thanks for your question.
It is hard for me to give you a direct answer as I don’t know the exact condition of your blade. But in general I suggest to change blades more often now, with the use of plastic balls. New blades have a harder feel and will provide you with more support playing against the plastic balls.
Usually the more you play, the softer the blade gets, due to the sweat from your hand, humidity from the weather, as well as a ball’s impact on the blade.
Many top players in the world are changing their blades after one season now, as they are looking for a harder feel of the blade to overcome the plastic balls better.
Best,
