Butterfly Table Tennis Question and Answer

Question:

Hi, I’ve been playing ping pong pretty casually for some time now.
The STIGA Pro Carbon has been with me for over a year and now I’m looking to find an upgrade.
I have an offensive approach, spinning serves with both my front and backhand. I’ll usually use my backhand return for stronger spins, but other than those shots, I’ll be trying to hit it over the net with a forehand smash.
I’d greatly appreciate any suggestions on what a nice paddle upgrade would be for myself. Or if there’s any other information that you might need, I’d be more than willing to provide it.
Thank you

This Ask the Experts question was answered by Jishan Liang. He is one of the coaches at New York Indoor Sports Club in College Point, NY. Coach Liang’s response is as follows:

Hi Jonathan,

I’m Jishan from ButterflyOnline.com Coaches Team.

I recommend you try the Viscaria. It is very light with good power and has very good feeling. This is the best blade! Along with the Viscaria, I suggest you try Tenergy 05 on your forehand and Tenergy 64 on your backhand.

Best of luck!

Coach Liang
