2022 BUTTERFLY TEAMS ROUND ROBIN TOURNAMENT

Qualifying Rating & Seeding
The qualifying rating is used to ensure teams are balanced. The qualifying rating will be used to seed teams. For a three-person team, the qualifying rating is determined by taking the average rating of the three players. For a four-person team, the qualifying rating is calculated by taking the average rating of the three lowest rated players. For a five-person team, the qualifying rating is calculated by taking the average rating of the middle three players.

*Please note that the Tournament Committee reserves the right to adjust these limits where necessary. Ratings from December 27th will be used for qualifying rating calculations and ratings from January 24th will be used for seeding

FORMAT FOR DIFFERENT ROUNDS: Round robin (RR) groups will be formed in all rounds.

PLAY FORMAT:

Round 1 – Prelims (Saturday): Division A will play 1 team from Division B and 1 team from Division C. Division B will play 1 team from Division A and 1 team from Division C. Division C will play 1 team from Division A and 1 team from Division B. Teams have a chance to move up a division, down a division, or remain in their division. After this round, teams will be sorted into Division A, Division B, and Division C based on their record in prelims.

Round 2 (Saturday & Sunday): Groups are now in the appropriate Divisions and will be 1 group of 8 RR. Placements will be decided by team records. Teams will play 4-5 teams on Saturday and 3-4 teams on Sunday.
