Q.1
What was your plan for the Quarterfinal against Jha, and how did you manage to win?

A.1
All my plans changed already in the first game, because I pulled my abdominal muscle a lot.
So I had to try even harder to win easy points, avoid long rallies and stay close to the table.

Q.2
What was your plan for the Semi-final match against Moregard?

A.2
At least I knew what works physically and what doesn’t. But the concept was similar to the one against Kanak.
It worked well, but Truls became more confident at the end and exploited my weaknesses well.

Q.3
How do you feel about the result of 3rd place?

A.3
Since I had to fight with a rib inflammation before and during the WC, I didn’t have big ambitions.
But I started the tournament very well against Zhou Qihao. I played really well.
After that, the field was open and I took my chance. To be in the semifinals again at 40 was a great feeling.

Q.4
What was your impression of the World Table Tennis Championships?

A.4
The center court was fun, I didn’t like the other hall so much.
The crowd in America is hot, I was happy to have a lot of fans there. They were great in cheering me on.
