With an official proclamation this week in the Rhode Island House of Representatives, the state has made April 23rd, 2026 “Rhode Island Table Tennis Day” as a part of the ITTF’s World Table Tennis Day celebrations.
The Resolution (see video below) that was adopted last week included an overview of the popularity of the sport worldwide as well as recognition of the contribution of the Rhode Island Table Tennis Association and their charitable 501(c)3. The presentation blended key themes of international reach, diversity, inclusivity with a shout out to the ITTF’s World Table Tennis Day, Major League Table Tennis, the Olympics, Para Table Tennis, and Parkinson Ping Pong. And Rhode Island Table Tennis was specifically recognized for their annual work with Seniors, Veterans, local schools, and the annual Pucks & Paddles event with the Boston Bruins.
You can view clips of the presentation in the video below.
