Who’s Ready for Some Sun? Puerto Rico Open Teams Registration Deadline March 1

Posted on

(by Steve Hopkins)

Seriously, New England (and the upper Midwest, and the Pacific Northwest, and all of freeeeezing Canada) – Its 85 degrees in Puerto Rico right now.

The deadline for registration into the 2023 Butterfly Puerto Rico Open is Wednesday, March 1.  Visit the registration site and get your team signed up.

$17,000 in prizes.  A 4-Star event.  International teams.  Some of the best players in the world from Puerto Rico, the US, the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, Peru, and Ukraine.

There’s something really special about this event.  Its what you’d expect from a premier 4-star event but with additional international flair.  San Juan is a vacation destination – so plan to visit the beach while you are there (or bring your family and let them enjoy the beaches).

There are two beaches within easy walking distance of the hotel and many, many other amazing beaches within a short drive.  There are snorkeling classes (about a mile from the hotel) and have video of sea turtles and brightly colored fish.  There are zip lines in the area (last year, there was actually a zip line setup that included a stop over the front entrance of the tournament venue).  The hotel can help arrange day tours that leave from the hotel and allow visits to the rain forest.  There is amazing wildlife, an array of landscapes, waterfalls, a natural rock waterslide, cliffs, natural pools – all easily accessible for day trips.  Old town in San Juan is beautiful with neat architecture, forts, statues, plazas, and brick-lined streets.

If you plan to travel for just one tournament this Spring – the 2023 Butterfly Puerto Rico Open is THAT tournament.

…And you can leave your shovel behind.
