WAB CLUB FEATURE: North Texas Table Tennis

(by Steve Hopkins)

North Texas Table Tennis is a premier table tennis club operating two locations in Plano, Texas.  Their Independence location, which used to be called the Xtreme Table Tennis School, operates out of HuaYi Education on Independence Parkway in Plano.  HuaYi Education provides after school programs and camps designed for social and academic growth and includes supervised school homework and other academic programs as well as Chinese language courses.  The Independence location was founded by Russ Hamilton and is now run by Shuai Wang.  It has a national reputation as one of the best table tennis clubs in Texas. Table tennis players of all ages are welcome. Members range from recreational players to elite players who compete in local, national, and international tournaments all year.

The club promotes excellence and sportsmanship in a safe and friendly environment. NTTTC also provides a wonderful facility for private and corporate functions and regularly hosts community-based tournaments, leagues, birthday parties, corporate events and charity events.

The second location of NTTTC is the Coit location on Legacy Drive in Plano. This location used to operate as the QD Academy Table Tennis Club.  It was founded in 2006 and is led by Mr. Zhong’an Wang, the former Head Coach of the Gansu Province Team of China. Coach Wang is an ideal option for those looking to learn from someone with long time training experience and a record of proven success. The gym at the Coit location provides great facilities for the club members’ training, practice and competition.  It is a spacious venue with hardwood floors, fifteen tables, and excellent lighting. The club coaches work with students of all ages and skill levels, from juniors to adults and from beginner to advanced players. Since its establishment, the club has been very active in promoting the table tennis sports in the DFW area and its players have won numerous titles in many regional and national competitions.

Both locations offer camps, group classes, private lessons and workshops.  They also have leagues, practice sessions, and after-school programs.  Successes in the past have included elite national level players, like 2014 National Cadet girl team member Joy Li.

No matter if the goal is training for the Olympics, trying to get physically fit, enjoying the sport with friends, or celebrating your birthday – NTTTC has options for you.  Come play and Join NTTTC.
