US Coaches on Home Turf for Dusseldorf World Championships
(BY MATT HETHERINGTON)

The countdown to the 2017 ITTF Leibherr World Table Tennis Championships is narrowing as Dusseldorf beckons. The 8 strong US team will prepare and compete under the guidance of coaches on familiar grounds.

Jorg Bitzigeio, newly appointed USA Table Tennis High Performance Director, and Stefan Feth, 2016 Coach of the Year, will guide the US team in Germany, grounds they are all too familiar with, both coming from strong careers playing and coaching there.

Jorg was of course the German National Women’s Team coach for many years, Stefan a member of the German National Team up to 2006 before moving to the USA where his successes as a player and coach continued.

The team will prepare for the Worlds from March 25-27 at Papendal, the Dutch High Performance Sport Training Center in Arnhem, Netherlands. Papendal is the home of many different sports and training facilities, there the US team will do their final preparations with the Dutch National Table Tennis Team before heading to Dusseldorf on the 28th May. You can visit www.papendal.com for more information on this excellent facility.

We wish the team all the very best of luck.
