With the Fourth of July just around the corner, the Kanak Jha’s American dream is alive and well at the United States Smash, the WTT Smash Series tour event being held at the Ontario Convention Center in Los Angeles. With what is arguably a home crowd in Jha’s home State of California cheering him on, Jha defeated England’s Tom Jarvis 3-1 to advance.
This is two solid matches in a row, having upset Shunsuke Togami in the opening round. Next up for Jha is Sweden’s Truls Moregard on Friday. Jha’s performance thus far should be sufficient to launch him into the World Top 20. That said, Jha has his eyes set on the Quarterfinals, so tune in tonight at 7:45 local time. In Doha earlier this year, the two met and Moregard won 3-0. However, in 2025 at the Singapore Smash, it was Jha that pulled out the tight 3-2 win.
