After the third round of matches in the Tischtennis Bundesliga (TTBL), three teams have remained undefeated: Borussia Dusseldorf (with Boll, Karlsson, and Kallberg), Neu Ulm (with Apolonia, Russian champion Sidorenko, and German youngster Kay Stumper), and Ochsenhausen (with Simon Gauzy, USA’s Kanak Jha, and Polish champion Samuel Kulczycki).
In last week’s matches, all three leaders cruised. Dusseldorf topped Bad Konigshofen 3-0, Neu-Ulm topped Bad Homburg 3-0, and Ochsenhausen topped Grenzau 3-0. In the Ochsenhausen win, Kanak Jha topped Patrick Baum 3-1 – Baum has faded a little from his peak rankings inside the World’s Top 20, but he is a dangerous player, and that was another solid win for Jha. Kanak Jha is now 4-1 in Singles in the current TTBL season.
This weekend’s matches will see Ochsenhausen against Mattias Falck’s Bremen team and No. 1 Dusseldorf matched up against No.2 Neu-Ulm. This Friday, Ochsenhausen will face Neu Ulm in what is likely to be a match-up of No. 2 and No. 3.
