TTBL: Dusseldorf Blanks Muhlhausen to Advance

Posted on

(by Steve Hopkins)

When they faced each other for the first time, Dusseldorf was able to top Muhlhausen 3-0.  In fact, Dusseldorf didn’t even need their three top ranked players as Anton Kallberg, Dang Qiu, and Kay Stumper were able to dominate with scores of 3-0, 3-1, and 3-1.

In the second meeting of the best of three series, the same three Muhlhausen players faced the same three Dusseldorf players.  In this week’s action, Kallberg defeated Ovidiu Ionescu 3-1, then Dan Qiu defeated Daniel Habesohn 3-0, and then Kay Stumper defeated Irvin Bertrand 3-0.

A 3-0 win for Dusseldorf, followed by a 3-0 win for Dussledorf as they blank Muhlhausen twice on the way to the Final.  Dusseldorf will face the winner of Saarbrucken and Ochsenhausen.
