Truls Moregardh and Christina Kallberg Win Swedish National Titles

Posted on

(by Steve Hopkins)

Truls Moregardh solidified his position as Sweden’s best by winning his third straight National title this week in Sweden.  Moregardh is currently No. 5 in the World, ten spots ahead of the next highest Swedes (Kristian Karlsson and Anton Kallberg).  The biggest surprise of the week was Finalist Viktor Brodd (outside World No. 600), a 32 year old known mostly for his Doubles skills who pulled out a 4-3 win over Mattias Falck in the Semifinal before falling to Moregardh.  Moregardh’s Semifinal win was over Anton Kallberg – a rematch of the 2021 Final with Moregardh winning again.

Christina Kallberg won the Women’s Singles event over Linda Bergstrom.  Christina Kallberg also won the Mixed Doubles title – teaming with her brother Anton.  And Christina tripled up on titles by winning Women’s Doubles with Erika Front.  Men’s Doubles went to Par Gerrell and Jens Lundqvist.
