Triangle Table Tennis Looks Forward to Future Success with Cary Cup Tournament
by Barbara Wei

Having opened less than two years ago, Triangle Table Tennis (TTT) has already made a name for itself as one of the best table tennis training facilities in the US. With impeccable sport flooring, Olympic level lighting, and space for up to 40 tables, the facility is a USA table tennis National Center of Excellence. The TTT space provides an excellent backdrop to the long running and infinitely popular Butterfly Cary Cup tournament. With ample supplemental facilities and seating for spectators, competitors, coaches, families and spectators, the 30,000 square foot facility easily supports the over 200 athletes who had made the trip to North Carolina to compete in this weekend’s 15th annual Cary Cup competition.

After hosting the Butterfly Cary Cup for the first time in 2015, TTT looks forward yearly to providing its world class facility for competitors from across the US. Tom Gabriel, TTT center manager, says that one of his favorite parts of each day is to watch players walk into the facility for the first time. Their surprise and excitement over such a beautiful space for table tennis can be seen on their faces – whether they are seasoned table tennis professionals or spectators attending their first every table tennis event is irrelevant. Even competitors from top clubs in the area express surprise and enthusiasm upon seeing the facilities at TTT.

Triangle Table Tennis hopes to bring additional 4-star tournaments to its one of a kind space, including plans for a 4-star team tournament later this year. In the long term, the club hopes to be one of the first full time table tennis venues in the US to host an ITTF Pro Tour event. With an incredible space, dedicated staff and a location only minutes from Raleigh-Durham international airport, TTT is poised for continued success in the coming years.

Continual coverage of the 2016 Butterfly Cary Cup and stories about the athletes will be available at ButterflyOnline.com, or via Butterfly North America’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
