Through the Eyes of Our Coaches & Players: By Jessica Reyes-Lai

(By Jessica Reyes Lai/ Butterfly Americas)

Participating in the 2026 World Table Tennis Championships in London was one of the most unforgettable and valuable experiences of my life. It was a great honor to represent my team and compete against outstanding players from all over the world. Standing on the international stage allowed me to truly experience the high level of competition and the intensity of world-class matches. As the tournament also marked the 100th anniversary of the World Table Tennis Championships, competing in London made this experience even more meaningful.

Throughout the tournament, I was extremely nervous, which affected my performance. However, I still gave my best effort in every match. I am especially grateful to my teammates, who never blamed me. Instead, they encouraged me and reminded me not to put all the pressure on myself. Although the final results were not exactly what I had hoped for, every match against top international players helped me recognize my weaknesses and showed me the areas where I need to improve. Off the court, I also had the opportunity to interact with athletes from different countries, broadening my international perspective and helping me realize that sports are not only about competition, but also about friendship and cultural exchange.

This tournament provided me with many valuable experiences. It not only improved my table tennis skills but also strengthened my determination and perseverance. I will use this experience as motivation to continue training hard, refine my techniques, and challenge myself to achieve even better results in the future. I hope to have the opportunity to compete on the world stage again and bring honor to both my team and myself.

Thank you for the sponsorship and support of Bowmar Sports . They have the best equipment and apparel which allow me to go to the competition without any worries and perform my best.
