At the Canadian Senior and Junior Championships held on July 17-23 in Winnipeg, Three10 Tennis Club maintained its winning streak, adding two more promising youth players to their remarkable medal count: Daniel Liang and Wendy Liu.
In the U13 Boys’ category, Daniel Liang put on a dominant performance, winning gold in both the singles and team competitions. Daniel showed maturity beyond his years when competing against other strong players throughout Canada. He outplayed his opponents by combining strong groundstrokes with his steady match play.
“Daniel has worked incredibly hard this past year, and this result is a true reflection of his growth and consistency,” the coaches at Three10 stated. “His focus and determination on court were outstanding.”
Wendy Liu achieved a career milestone at this tournament, capturing her first-ever national gold medal as part of the U19 Girls’ team. The 16-year-old, who has been rising through the ranks, had a breakthrough moment with this triumph. In addition, she competed against adult competitors and won a bronze medal in the senior women’s doubles category, demonstrating her adaptability and composure under pressure.
“We are extremely proud of Wendy for winning her first gold at Nationals,” the coaches continued. “She has put in a lot of effort to get this point, and her bronze in senior doubles against an adult competition also proves that she belongs on the big stage.”
