Markham, ON is an important stop on the road to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Later this summer – July 19-26 –  the PANAM Games will determine the first qualifiers for the 2016 Games – the winners in the Men’s and Women’s Singles will be handed their tickets for the Games.

Two Canadians – Eugene Wang and Mo Zhang – have a realistic chance to claim these tickets in Markham in July.

The rest of the North American players vying for a spot in Rio will also have to pass through Markham. April 8-10, 2016 will be the crucial date of the ITTF North America Olympic Qualifier. Players from US, Bermuda, US Virgin Islands and Canada will compete for a spot in Rio.
