Puerto Rico Dominates In Youth Panamericans Table Tennis Championships

Our National Puertoricans Youth Men’s team won the gold medal in the Team event of the U19 Pan American Championship held in Rosario, Argentina after beating Brazil 3-2 in the maximum number of matches.

In addition to the gold medal, they managed to qualify for the Junior World Cup to be held in Tunisia in December.  This is the first time in the history of Puerto Rican Table Tennis that our U19 team in the men’s branch has won the ticket to the World Cup.

The team is made up of its captain Angel Naranjo, Oscar Birriel, Jabdiel Torres and Derek Valentin.  In his corner they were by National youth Coach a d Butterfly Sponsored Coach Edgardo Vázquez.

Finally, our women’s team won the bronze medal and climbed on the podium with countries like the United States, Brazil and Mexico.

Our athletes Alondra Rodríguez, Brianna Burgos, Edmarie León and Daymar Castro were directed by coach Carlos Gracia.
