Ovtcharov’s Gazprom Team Advances to Russian League Final

A week after Dusseldorf won the German League Final, the other dominant team in Europe is on the cusp of their league’s Final.  Fakel Gazprom Orenburg, the Russian team anchored by Ovtcharov, Freitas and Shibaev has advanced to the Finals of the Russian Premier League.  Gazprom dominated the semifinal round winning 3-0 and 3-0 in their semifinal series.

The Saturday/Sunday Finals series will match the powerful Gazprom squad against UMMC Jekaterinburg.  UMMC’s team includes Tomislav Pucar, Jonathan Groth, and Liam Pitchford.

Matches start Saturday at 7pm local time (noon Eastern).
