NYISC Hold Successful ITTF Coaching Course

(By Sydney Christophe)

Report on the ITTF -PTT Level 1 Coaching Course

Date: April 9-13th 2017

Venue: New York Indoor Sports Club

A total of 10 coaches participated in the ITTF-PTT Level 1 Coaching Course held from April 9-13th 2017 at the New York Indoor Sports Club.

Among the students were David and Gal Gmach, a father and son who travel all the way from Florida, Lina Ye, Manager of Chinese Community Centre Flushing which will be hosting 2 ITTF Courses in August this year and Steven Kasha who came from Boston, Massachusetts but felt that he wanted to take this course to assist in the development of the game in his area.

The class gave top marks for the ability of the course to meet their expectations, they were also in high praise of the Course Conductor’s knowledge and presentation, the suitability of the venue and pre-course information, while some differ on the length of the course.

While they found many aspects useful ,for example the balance between the theoretical and practical breakdown of the strokes and the multi ball sessions , they offered a few suggestions on improving like showing more videos and videoing the coaches in their presentations so that they can go back and learn from their mistakes .

The coaches hopefully will soon join 285 other USA coaches who are ITTF certified and will automatically be qualified to become USATT State Level Coaches,

A lot of different ideas but a common theme where all coaches wanted to use the knowledge gained to help the growth of the sport in their environs.
