Lind Wins in Bulgaria

(by Steve Hopkins, photo WTT)

Anders Lind dominated the draw at this week’s WTT Feeder Series event in Panagyurishte, Bulgaria.  Top seeded Steffen Mengel was upset in his first match, leaving Lind as the highest remaining seed.  Lind never looked back.  Wins of 3-1, 3-0, 3-0, 3-1, and 3-0 dotted Lind’s path to victory, with his Semifinal win over China’s Sun Wen, and his Finals win over China’s Zeng Beixun.

Japanese players were the top two seeds in Women’s Singles, and they finished exactly as expected.  Top seed Satsuki Odo defeated second seed Honoka Hashimoto when the two met in the Final.  Men’s Doubles went to Sun Wen and Xu Haidong.  Women’s Doubles went to Hisomi Sato and Honoka Hashimoto.  Mixed Doubles went to Xue Fei and Han Feier.
