Let us introduce you to the next “Game Changer” – Tenergy 05 Hard

tenergy rubbers2Best rubber ever!” This was how the new Tenergy 05 Hard rubber was described by Stefan Feth, a Butterfly sponsored coach, current National Team Coach and a former international player who has been a teammate of the worlds best including Timo Boll.

The technology behind Tenergy 05 Hard began with the changeover from celluloid balls the new plastic balls. Many top players felt that they lost a lot of spin when the switch occurred. Butterfly set out to address this deficit. The result from the leader in table tennis products, was a firmer rubber to help offset the difference of play with the new ball.

Sir Issac Newton’s first law of motion states, “A body at rest will remain at rest, and a body in motion will remain in motion unless it is acted upon by an external force.” Simply put, an object at rest (stationary) will remain at rest, and a mass in motion will continue moving in the same direction unless something causes that direction to change. This is where Butterfly’s Spring Sponge and High-Tension technologies set themselves apart from the rest. The combination of these two technologies maximize the reaction of the table tennis ball.

To fully understand the magnitude of Tenergy 05 Hard, one needs to look no further than the components.tn05hard

SenseOfCatchingTheBallSpring sponge – More than a decade of research has led to the latest sponge technology created by the engineers at Butterfly, Spring Sponge. The most notable feature of this new technology is a sense of “catching” the ball, a phenomenon not present in any other rubbers currently available on the market. The secret to Spring Sponge is the unique material composition and air inside the sponge; it expands and contracts just like a spring! Spring Sponge will make you feel in total control.

HighTensionTHigh Tension – Top athletes rely on its technology. Incorporating tension in the sponge, the rubber surface, or combined in both High Tension stands for a modern table tennis characterized by lots of feel, spin variations and fierce dynamics. Intensive research made possible a broad selection of high powered rubbers which comply with the highest quality standards:

The optimized surface remains adhesive without a protective film, like all our rubbers.
If the rubber is exposed to oxygen it does not cause stains on the surface.
Both rubbers are more resistant to blistering and cracks despite their high tension.
The tension is evenly balanced thus there will not be any deformation of the rubber.
The spring sponge technology in Tenergy absorbs the mass and acceleration of the table tennis ball, and then explodes that stored energy from the collision of the ball and the racket together, providing a faster and spinnier reaction than other rubber sheets. But even with the technology built into the Tenergy series, some players have felt that the change to the plastic ball has caused a reduction in spin on some returns.

After much time developing the Tenergy Series, it was time for Tenergy 05 Hard to be born. Tenergy 05 Hard used the basic Tenergy 05 top sheet, but has changed the sponge backing to a denser material in order to achieve the desired playing characteristics of which Tenergy 05 has been known. The result is an ideal combination for players with a fast and powerful swing.
