A great day for Para Table Tennis in Canada

Bratislava was the host for the 2016 Slovakia Para Championships. Our Canadian Team, with Para National Team coach John Macpherson, BC’s Stephanie Chan, Ontario’s Barry Buttler and Nova Scotia’s Steven Dunn, went on to a very successful tournament. For the first time ever, a Canadian wheelchair team has won a team match. The doubles combination Buttler and Dunn not only won against the Spanish Team, but also took a set against the later Gold Medalist from Brazil. Stephanie Chan won a Silver medal with her partner from Turkey, Kubra OCSOY.

John Macpherson was very happy and said “All in all it’s been a great day for para table class in Canada.”

You can find all the results on the IPTTC website.
