Gabriel Perez Joins Butterfly

(by Steve Hopkins)

This week Bowmar Sports announced that Gabriel Perez has joined the Bowmar Sports Butterfly Team.  In April of this year, the 17-year-old made headlines anchoring the Puerto Rican team at the 2019 Caribbean Junior and Cadet Championships.  Behind Perez’ great play, Puerto Rico took the Team Championship and Perez also finished third in the Singles event.

Gabriel Jose Perez Velez was born in San Juan.  He excelled in many sports from an early age – basketball, baseball, soccer, volleyball and even an advanced open water certification for SCUBA.  By thirteen, Gabriel turned his focus just to table tennis and he was a part of the Puerto Rican Cadet team by the following year.  At seventeen, Gabriel has now logged three years of titles and accolades.  He belongs to the high-performance program run by the Olympic Committee and he represents Puerto Rico as a part of the Junior National Team.

Bowmar Sports looks forward to supporting Gabriel as he continues to develop as a player and we wish him continued success as he rises through the ranks.
